Think you've done studying Anatomy?
It's not all about that first anatomy course you did, you know? The limitations to the kind of anatomical education we are given are the limitations within which we work with our clients.
Ok, you might be getting fantastic results with your clients... but as is always the case - we simply don't know what we don't know. Did you know that?
We have flipped the anatomical model on it's head and discovered that it carries equal value to the existing model that is taught to everybody from your basic PT course to university students, doctors and surgeons.
What AiM is offering is a new set of tools - a brighter, shinier and newer tool in your tool box that gives you a quicker and simpler route to understanding your patients and clients needs. It's based on human motion and our interaction with the world around us.
When we lay on a couch: not much can influence the way our body moves (other then the therapist of course!)... but when you are out running in the park, walking to the bus, climbing a rock face, skiing in the Alps or working out on a beach somewhere: your body is under the influence.
It must be able to adapt to the surface, the terrain, the twists and the turns, how late you are (pace you walk at), the angle of the face. Walking is a full sensory experience. Every step affects the way your whole body moves. And the way your body responds to that step can be directly linked to injury and pain: the kind of things your patients/clients come to see you for... back, neck or joint pain. Plantar fasciitis. Sciatica. Shin splints when running. You name it: it's affected by the environment as well as past history.
Anatomy in Motion is not interested in the localised pain or discomfort: while keeping one eye on it, however, we are more interested in the global cause. If we can find that, we can make dramatic changes to the problems in the body. We call them transformations. Because it transforms how you feel and how you perform whether on the sports field or off it...
3D Anatomy introduces this new and easy to apply method of addressing human anatomy and is running on the 17th January 2010 in London - follow this link to read about the workshop

I love your focus on "global' causes of pain & discomfort.
I just watched the hamstring video on youtube - very interesting
