3D Anatomy Course
Breaking the Mould of Anatomical Thinking
Anatomy is taught and learnt statically, yet the body is a full blown 3D monster that cannot be isolated into parts or single movement planes if our full potential is to be realised. Static anatomy has provided us with key tools and insight into human motion, yet training statically causes postural change, inherent weaknesses in muscle groups and easy access to physical imbalances.
3D Anatomy is a step beyond static anatomy: viewing the human body in motion generates a different set of rules and functions that the body consistently adheres to. To work with the body in 3D quickly resolves:
- postural issues
- mobility issues
- balance (homeostasis)
- joint motion inhibitions
- muscle function
- inefficient movement patterns
The reality of human movement is very different when analysed from the perspective of the body in motion – This new set of ‘rules’ means we can quickly identify inhibition the body’s motion as a whole.
Joint motion forms a key part of determining and dictating your motion potential within the human body. Muscles and their attachments carry equal importance but the way we view the role, action and function of muscles changes dramatically. Increasing motion potential and awareness in the body means less problems, less pain and greater results.
3D Anatomy is designed to introduce the concept of three dimensional anatomy, specifically focussing on all areas of the body and the interaction of all muscles, joints and movement patterns.
3D Anatomy study's the major joints, muscles and the soft tissue that binds them:
- The Foot
- The Ankle
- The Knee
- The Hip/pelvis
- The Spine
- The Core (The bridge between lower & upper extremities)
- The Shoulder blades
- The Shoulder Joint
- The shoulder Girdle
- The Neck
- Including motion in each plane and at each joint
Many people say it’s easier to see the body working in this global way, naturally facilitating our anatomical understanding and sparking interest in what the human body truly can achieve.
3D Anatomy forms part of the Level One Finding Centre course, covering all of the above as well as the 3D Stretching outline to get you started in understanding the anatomy when in motion.
